Karla's update on her trip out West to Arizona and beyond. She visited national monuments and parks including the grand canyon. The amount of walking and hiking was challenging. She got a reminder of home at a Mexican restaurant she and her host family visited. The beans she ordered set off memories of her mother’s cooking in Brazil. Karla watched “Mama Mia”, sang a lot of the songs along with discovering country music.
Now she has a sweater from her host family with "Country Roads" on it. During the road trip she frequently sang John Denver's hit song of the '70s. Karla discovered pistachio ice cream as the best ice cream she ever had.
