Mount Horeb Student Rotarians – January 2026

The Mount Horeb Student Rotarians for the month of January were Laurel Aquino and Khaya Kasubaski.
 
Laurel Aquino is very active in DECA, where she is currently the chapter president and placed 4th in the world in a DECA international competition last spring. She’s been on the musical crew for four years, serving as stage manager for the last two. She played soccer, and is a member of the high school band, jazz band and choir. She’s also active in National Honor Society, Ecology Club, Club Interact, Student Council, Link Crew and Letters of Love.
 
Outside of school, she volunteers at Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Camp Invention and is a summer school mentor.
 
Laurel is the daughter of Mark and Kellie Aquino and the sister of Rachel Aquino, also a student Rotarian a few years back. She plans to attend a four-year university to major in environmental studies and business.
 
Khaya Kasubaski helped found VALT (Vikings Athletics/Activities Leadership Team) and served as its president. Her sports activities include four years on the soccer team and one year of cross country. She serves as Senior Class Vice President and is a member of National Honor Society, Link Crew, Letters of Love, Student Council, and has played the flute in the band for six years. 
 
She’s a member of DECA, winning third place at DECA District level. She’s also had a youth apprenticeship, and been active in HOSA and Club Interact.
 
Khaya is the daughter of Phillip and Indri Kasubaski and a sister to Kyle. She plans to UW-La Crosse, majoring in biology with hopes of attending dental school.
