Neighbors Helping Neighbors formed in 2019, an offshoot from the Community Clothes Closet evolving to provide personal, essential and household items, access to social workers, pastors, etc. to be a one-stop shop resource hub.

There has been a significant uptick in need.

What does NHN do? Last year 98,000 lbs. of food intake, provided roughly provided 106k of meals to community. Currently there is no excess inventory of food since it is distributed within days.

Volunteers maintain confidentiality of who comes through the facility.

2021 roughly 1,000 individuals monthly were serviced.

Since then numbers have kept going up. 60 families weekly are served. Food comes from Second Harvest, and CAC.

NHN is writing grants now, goal is Grant funding for the next 2 years.

Help is needed most with volunteer base. 65 are active, need more volunteers to help with tasks and willing to fill in as lead. Spreading the word about the organization is another form of help.

Food recovery workers screen produce from Miller’s, local CSA’s, Kwik Trip.

Hours: Friday afternoons 9-10:30, 3-5:30 Friday afternoons with greatest need from 3:00-4:30

Sat 10-11:30 good way to get started is to greet and load with clients.
