Business meeting from board on Tuesday. The Budget is posted for club to review.

Fiscal year starts July 1. The goal is for the club to have enough time to present to the club, make revisions, review by board, and get final club approval. A google form will be sent out for feedback.
The budget uses percentages based on fundraising from the previous year.
Service account expense is taken off the top. 5% is set aside for unanticipated operating expenses, 5% set aside to save, a policy set during COVID as a buffer just in case major fundraising events are unable to happen.
Percentages allow more flexibility and based on historical data from previous years.
Agenda link for budget can be found here.

Service budget is divided among the club’s committees with a formula using percentages based on the breakdown from previous years.

Operational budget includes items for day-to-day operations involving membership fees for membership in the chamber, District dues, etc

Youth exchange student is a every-other year expense, but is budgeted every year. This helps to prevent any budget shortfalls since expenses change year by year.

Big News!
The club has a benefactor, a former youth exchange participant, and Mount Horeb rotarian has gifted $10,000 to our Rotary club with the intention that the funds be used for our club, Rotary or Rotary International for Youth, or leadership purpose. These funds will eventually reside at
Rotary Foundation account where they will generate interest.

Shawn: 4th quarter dues email was sent out. Quick books statements showing account activities in a statement.

EREY reminder, your contribution to Rotary International helps the club qualify for matching grants. Each member is being asked to donate $100 annually which can be made in installments, or a lump sum. A link to Rotary International is found on our ClubRunner home page

DEI question was raised concerning the club having some sort of financial aid for club dues, or other expenses to help bring in members who want to participate in Rotary but may not have the means to do so.

Peggy: Friends of Rotary are people who help with our events. It is a mailing list we have been building to the community to encourage involvement, as well as our facebook page.
