Super Bowl Fundraiser Update:
Steve mentioned that all went well, including setup and cleanup. It looked like turnout was a little lighter than usual this year, with about 350 meals served. Leftover food was donated to the fire department – Aubree was kind enough to deliver the leftovers on Sunday (this might need to be checked for accuracy).
State Assembly member Jenna Jacobson attended along with State Senator Howard Marklien, County Chair Supervisor Pat Downing, and Sondy Pope, former state assembly member.
Announcements:
Paul Christianson updated Brent regarding the recent vote by the club, called to elect our 2025-2026 PE and PEN. Brent mentioned some members may be a little concerned about the PEN vote being cast so far ahead of the voting timeframe stipulated by our Club bylaws (November). Due to the lack of volunteers for either role until recently, Brent felt it wise to try to capture volunteers for both positions while the capturing was good. Some discussion among members present resulted in an unofficial consensus that bringing the position of 25-26 PE up for accepting any additional nominations/volunteers and a vote during November of 2025 for the position of PEN would be a good idea. The results of the recent vote currently show 18 votes “aye” for Elizabeth Grabe as our club’s current PEN and 25-26 PE, and Keith White as our club’s future 25-26 PEN.
Steve Helwig suggested that the club consider adopting a general policy such that; should the school system call a weather day, the Rotary Club would generally cancel the meeting as well at the discretion of the current president or designated leader of that scheduled meeting.
Steve hosted Brix trivia night at 6pm Wednesday evening at Brix Cider - all are welcome.
Tri-Con attendance by club members was discussed. We might have some additional members interested in going this year for the first time.
Steve Salerno is asking for final donations for governor’s visit – please bring to next meeting.
Steve Salerno invited any club member interested to join us next week at 11:15 am at our Culver’s meeting place to visit with District 6250 Governor Todd Restal and his wife Eva Marie. Todd will be our guest for next Wednesday’s meeting.
No planned committee work was performed due to attendance.
