Award Presentation: to Susan Wallitsch, our outgoing president. Thank you for your tireless service and leadership to our club. Under your watch we were able to help our club adapt and thrive, bring back the 10k raffle, and other accomplishments.

 

Steve is happy to be back with us.

 

Sophia turned 9 (Paul) it wasn’t the best birthday celebration since she wasn’t feeling well. Birthday celebration was postponed

 

Shawn: sent updated P&L and budget with breakouts for end of year. Adjustments need to be made up to date for July 1.

 

If committees under or over-spend that amount will carry over to the next year.

 

Peggy asked, where to we find our committee’s account balance and was advised to download the bank’s app.

 

Paul: we have purchased a computer for the treasurer reports. Software to run quick books needs be decided upon.

 

Judy: Youth Exchange has expenses that need to be paid. Found out there is a savings account to set aside larger items.

Every other year when we host these can be planned for.

Keith: need to tidy up the numbers to estimate future budgets.

 

Peggy Secretary’s report & Social, PR & Membership Committee:

Dixie and Jim retired, and we have Paul Harris pins and are planning a party on the 5th Wednesday 7/30th ~5 pm. Location to be announced.

Our budget is tight so expect a cash bar.

Committee meeting last week went over the menu for 10k, teacher luncheon, and 5th Wednesday. Teacher luncheon will be at the Violet room, with Atzlan catering. Needs numbers of attendees 5 days out before the event.

 

Susan W, Bob and Peggy will be working on new membership. Susan had an exit interview with Karl Johnson. She learned a lot at the interview and is looking for a way to improve the experience.

 

Wants to bring in and recruit key players in the community. Example would be police, fire department, and other members in our community.

 

New Generations:

Soren is home and will be at an upcoming meeting to say hello, or at International night event. First stop was Culvers. Mom says he has changed and matured a lot. Is not a fussy eater now. Judy had a Skype session with our incoming exchange student.

Joey is coming next week to share his presentation for his host family in Brazil.

 

Paul with Fundraising: we have sold 120 tickets, roughly half. Take a look at the list and people who are missing email address and give them a call to see if they are interested since they did not get the first email announcement. Tickets have been updated to include a perforated edge for compliance with the license.

Older registration forms can be used, make sure to update the date of 8/16/23.

 

We can start selling 10k raffle tickets to the public today.

 

Status of Interact students, student football team players, volunteers to start decorating tables. Next up 10th ticket sponsors.

Discussion about silent action. It’s a lot of work.

Susan suggested to have a donated item gift box as one of the live item auctions

 

Other business:

Rotary Picnic Noon at July 16th at Rooney farm and Air B&B location. Bring your own sandwich, invite friends. Desserts will be provided.
