When asked about how they spend their holiday Calvin and Ben enjoyed relaxing time with family.
 
There was a short preview from Mark Rooney about next week’s presentation at the Mount Horeb library.
 
Happy Bucks:
Bob is happy to worked with Calvin who helped with a grandmother clock.
Mark is happy for his cataract surgery and celebrating Tim’s 33rd birthday dinner. Found a classmate from MA and was able to spend time during the last few weeks of his time.
Gary is grateful for a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Peggy is happy for the Thanksgiving meal delivery 93 meals were delivered like clockwork.
Dana hosted 40 people for Thanksgiving. It was Ella’s birthday weekend as well.
 
Announcements
Update on Meal Train for Franke’s meal train, and what to do with the proceeds. He is in a new apartment.
Dixie is at Ingleside for part of the day. Svetlana and Brian delivered her Thanksgiving meal.
Thank you cards from students who attended the World Affairs seminar, and the Board of Education.
Home of Our Own (HOO) sent out a fundraising letter. The club helped with setting up a kitchen, and Steve suggested that the grants committee consider helping out again.
Bob shared his experience with meal delivery at the Senior Citizen center: Bob mentioned a contact opportunity at the senior center to do outreach.

Paul and Peggy are working on the Mount Horeb Rotary foundation updating the charter, and getting compliance with the IRS,
 
New Generations: Keith reports that he has not heard back about the student exchange student applications. We need to find host families within 30 days of being assigned a student. Keith would like to offer club members a chance to volunteer.
Badger Boys and Girls State. We plan on having 2 and need to follow up with the check.
 
Feb. 7th is the Rotary Ethics Symposium hosted by Madison Rotary Club. Steve invites us to attend the event at Monona Terrace. Contact Steve for information if you are interested in attending. Starts at 9:30 and ends at 4 pm.
 
Jan. 4th Interact Students will be at Neighbors Helping Neighbors from 9-noon we are encouraged to come and help with their volunteering.
 
We are trying to get a team together for another “Feed my Starving Children” event. Dry food is packaged, shipped out of the country. Event is March 7th at the Good Shepherd Church off Hwy. PD.
 
Membership Services
Holiday 5th Wednesday Jan. 29th and we will explore a different venue (Artemis) to check into renting space, catering. Do we want to book the Violet room again, or explore other options such as Artemis on main street?
 
Svetlana’s project for community visibility coffee certificates for local community members who serve our community. More to come on this project.
 
Some discussion about engagement with our club members using a survey. Also communicating with new members. What can we do to recapture that talent, and what can we do?
Gary: chiming in about the business engagement, finding a common interest with focus on “service above self” and reach out to the Chamber to find out what is missing in this experience.
He also spoke about his experience being a chamber member, and finding a way to measure what is missing.
 
Bob: how can we engage the business community. Suggestion followed to contact the chamber.

SAVE the DATE Feb. 9 Super Brunch, and get placemat ad sales lined up.
Budapest grant is postposed indefinitely due to political environment in Hungary.
End of year giving:
A reminder about member’s yearly EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) contribution, requirements of District 6250, is used to help leverage our international grants.
