Announcements:
- Wednesday next committees will be working together.
- Organize a presentation for the Mount Horeb Chamber of Commerce's "Good Morning, Mount Horeb" event.
- Sign up for Thanksgiving meal delivery with Bob Johnson
- No meeting on Nov. 27, instead gather on Saturday morning Nov. 30 to inventory Rotary trailer at the bus garage.
- 12/11 Caves of Borneo presentation by Mark Rooney at the Mount Horeb Library. Steve will be sending out a link for ordering lunch which will be delivered to the meeting room.
Guest Speaker
Kathy Plath shared her work on the "Laptops to Lesotho" project, which provided a library with Kindle Fires and educational resources to a remote village in Lesotho Africa. The project cost $40,000 and aimed to improve education and literacy.
SolarSPELL server was loaded up with information as a local network powered by solar panels.
Kindle Fire replaced the laptops.
Library set up on the Dewey decimal system
Follow up: evaluation and find a peace corps volunteer.
200 students at the local school.
Questions from members covered logistics, sustainability, and future plans.
