Attendance: Paul Christiansen, Keith White, Russ Christian, Svetlana Neshlyaeva, Judy Steinhauer, Bob Johnson, Liz Grabe, Sarah Straka, Dave Reed, Mark Rooney, Peggy Zalucha, Steve Salerno, Gary Tree, Dana Fager, Tracy Diehm, Jorge Sevilla.
 
Guests: Mark and Tezra Mennet from Ridgeway are parents of high school student Olivia, who is looking to be an outbound exchange student. She wants to go to Japan, or Asia.
 
Guest Aubree Hanks is in charge of  public relations, and resource development at MHASD. One of her jobs is to help fund the school system. So far she has secured $900k in grant funding.
 
Tracy and Jorge are back. Jorge won the costume contest as Shrek at the 5th Wednesday event last week.
 
Thanks to Peggy for organizing the event. 23 people showed up, there was a costume contest, Rotary trivia contest. On that note, we are heading towards that time of the year to think about our holiday get together.
 
Happy Bucks
Happy for Oliva’s parent’s are guests. Happy for Winston’s 2nd birthday.
Paul is happy for his daughters who are involved in gymnastics. This past weekend his daughter scored a perfect 10 on the balance beam.
Mark Rooney went to Good Morning Mount Horeb and to learn about the New Urgent Care opening. Also covered was Men’s Health, mental health. He is happy to be a member of this organization. Also presented was Neighbor to Neighbor organization. He is happy to be part of this club which does so much for each other and our community.
“With a group like this, we all pull together and it makes all the difference.”
 
Judy: Guys and Dolls is coming to the High School this weekend.
 
Bob is happy. The Wallitsch meal train is going strong, we are extending it to Thanksgiving Day. They are finding care for Franke. His daughter visited from Colorado. Bob’s son is involved with a canine search group who recently found a missing 8-year-old. Today he is making a presentation for students in Milwaukee
 
Liz is happy to be back in a safe space of the Rotary Club after running in a targeted state legislature race. She was able to work along with some of our high school students who helped out with a fundraising event, canvassing, and working in the Mount Horeb Field Office. Spoiler alert: one of these students in the photo below  is a future student rotarian.
 
Sarah is happy to share that the Girls Cross Country team got 3rd at the State Championship Meet. Congratulations to the team which includes Sarah’s daughters.
 
Announcements
December 11th Mark Rooney’s trip to SE Asia at the library. We will be meeting at the Mount Horeb public library. The plan is to order lunch at Culver’s and then Steve will deliver. Mark’s presentation includes caves in Borneo, and his reconnecting with a former Rotary student.
 
During the meeting members agreed upon an event to take inventory on our club’s trailer. Save the date of Saturday November 30th at the District bus garage located at 421 W Garfield St. The plan is to start at 11 and have chili and other snacks to keep us fueled while we take on organizing the trailer and updating inventory.
 
Interact club will be at Neighbors Helping Neighbors Jan. 4th if any members want to join them.
 
Secretary’s Report: Peggy informs us that she needs to know if any of our club members are considering dropping out. If members are considering leaving the club please notify her by December.
We have a date in January selected for our late-season winter party.
 
New generations:
2 students have applied Tristian’s paperwork is in.
 
Student Rotarians: Tammy has done a great job getting our student rotarians lined up through May.
 
Fundraising
Super Brunch on Super Bowl Sunday 2/9/25. Flashback to 1985 teams themed. Getting ready for the super brunch. Time to dust off your contact list to get the placemat ad sales going.
 
Thanksgiving Dinner Meal Delivery has started. Senior Center is collecting the information. 10 people to deliver around noon time on Thanksgiving in 20 mile radius
 
Grant Committee
The grant committee tried to schedule a meeting. Gary Tree is still working on finding information for International Grant, Milwaukee has some projects to be decided on. Next 2 weeks should have an answer.
 
Treasurer’s Report
Shawn is away.
Rotary Foundation gift: questions about transferring funds to the appropriate accounts. Need to find if the funds have been transferred.
