Rotary Fellowships are based on interest. See your Rotary Magazine lists the various fellowships.
Home exchange is one that interests Judy, you can use your home and exchange with another family in the group. It’s a great way to travel and get a feel of an area while you stay in a Rotary member’s home.
Paul will share Judy’s links in our meeting agenda.
Friendship exchanges can be found at Rotary 6250.org
Judy shared her experiences with friendship exchanges in Australia, Peggy went to Prague. Sign up is around $100 and you pay for the expenses you occur. Each exchange is different. Make sure you understand what your hosts expect, and what expenses you are going to pay.
You can start your own exchange and have members in the district participate.
You are required to host, so expect to do some work providing hospitality, finding opportunities for experiences.
Rotary International Conventions are another excellent experience, opportunity to meet people around the world. International Conventions are phenomenal, the next year is in Calgary, Canada.
Some conventions are closer in proximity and all feature motivational guest speakers, with opportunities to meet other members from around the world. There are travel agencies that work with rotarians and have packages for additional days afterwards.
After Judy’s presentation Paul rang the bell for his final meeting of his term. Thank you for your leadership and great term as President Suga. 😂
