Spring Art Tour is coming up. Next year will be the 15th anniversary of the museum.

Karla’s Update
She has been away for 2 weeks, having a great time with her host family. At Tricon she presented in front of a large crowd as a leader, visited Lambeau Field. Saturday’s breakfast featured candy from her fellow exchange student Brayden. She watched her final gymnastic meet with her previous host family. She experienced her first Farmer’s Market, and is working with plants at Jada’s. Friday she is having a party, and looking forward to celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend.
Happy Bucks
Steve it’s his daughter Viviana’s 15th birthday today and he is going through the final punch list for the remodeling project at his business.
Mark Rooney is thankful for the response to school shooting by school staff. Appreciation and gratitude for the tremendous response from our members Paul and Steve, as well as the community. Steve Salerno added his appreciation of the community and for the musicianship of members of the Life Church which was one of the reunification points for parents and students.
Susan Wallitsch added a happy buck for Franke who echoed his thankfulness for Steve and Paul.
Faye: happy buck for her experience volunteering at the Historium, and the Cave of the Mounds, and for Mark saving her when she had a situation with her car outside of the cave parking lot.
Liz: Happy for Focus on Energy award for Renew our Schools earned by the Mount Horeb High School AP Environmental Science Club. MHHS is one of two schools in the state to complete the challenge. Focus on Energy provided the school with installation of an e-gauge energy monitoring system which tracks and reports real-time energy usage. Winning schools earn a $2,500 prize to further implement energy efficiency projects in their buildings.

Welcome Our New Members Jared Nelson (left) and Caden Lee (right).
Continuing the conversation about the club's recent donation, the club received a $10k donation. The donor spent time abroad as a Rotary exchange student and the experience changed his life. The intention of the donor is to focus on youth leadership and with youth activities.
The board has recommended to split 1/3 of the proceeds for the Mount Horeb Rotary Foundation, 2/3rds for Youth and New Generations to help increase outreach for impact on our youth. The club will be sending out a voting form for members to vote and/or give feedback on the proposed use of the generous donation.

The club has met this year’s goal for EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) donations made to Rotary International by club members to qualify for district grants matching.
Community Grants this year the club will be awarding $9500 to various local organizations. Our 5th Wednesday in May will be the awards ceremony at the Violet Room at 6 pm. There will be no noon meeting that day.
Social, Diversity, Public Relations, and Membership Committee has communicated to the board the need to pare down some of the branches of the Social Committee. With multiple focus areas to cover, the committee faces challenges in time management to be able to address all the facets and functions simultaneously during meetings.
Fundraising: The 10k to-do list is being worked on for our event in August.
Frolic weekend of 6/6-6/9. Members are asked to volunteer for a couple shifts. Stay tuned for sign up genius from Sumer Frolic Committee to sign up for work shifts for the Frolic concession stand. It’s a fun way to work side by side with other organizations in the community.
Frolic Raffle Tickets are available 3 for $50, or $20 each.
Heads up about the Foundation, there is a small group involved in reorganizing the Foundation.
22 years ago the Foundation started as a 501(C)3 organization for scholarships, and to use as a pass-through so donations may be tax deductible. The group will rewrite bylaws to reflect changes. Account balance is $20k.
In the past we have been saving funds for scholarships, and as a pass-through for an international eye grant for cataract surgeries in India, a well in Equator, a Library in Puerto Rico, and other International grants.
Next week the students will be here running the meeting, we may need help with transportation. 11:45 in front of the high school.
The meeting broke up into meetings with committees for a few minutes prior to adjourning.
