Guests: Gary’s friend Carter, another Rotarian from the Galena area. Carter sponsored the first project, the dental clinic in Curcavi. I sponsored as part of the Madison club, the physical rehab. But I this is their third project to work sponsoring. Now for the trash compactor. And Carter's club has donated $5000 towards the project.
Dr. Steven Salinger had his third lunch with the club.
 
Zandra update: Last Friday was her last basketball game. Sunday she went to a U.W. Women’s basketball game and will be going to the men’s game tonight.
 
Aspen’s last time with us as student Rotarian. She likes how the club is engaged in the community, and finds her time with us very educational. She received her award, and club pen.
 
Announcements
The District Governor will visit next Wednesday around 11:30. Board members are encouraged to meet prior to our regular meeting. Peggy is still accepting items to donate for the Governor’s gift basket by next Tuesday.
 
Discussion:
By-laws, a majority vote to amend the bylaws suggested during voting process. Please vote if you haven’t already. 18 people have noted. We need 19 votes total to get the majority required for approval for proposed changes to the bylaws.
 
Foundation report:
Rotary Club of Mount Horeb Foundation had a certificate of deposit that came due, decision made to roll over the CD. We turned our checking account into a money market. Well done foundation! Peggy was able to optimize earnings on the funds. The foundation is set up as a funding source for our student scholarships.
 
Treasurer's Report:
Ad sales for placemat ads: we still have some advertisers who have not paid yet.
Budgeting is coming up for the next fiscal year, upcoming budget meeting  of board in April to present a preliminary version during the next board meeting with a tentative date of April 1st. Committee chairs, as well as being open to all club members.
Funding formula using percentages as in previous years will be used again, with the membership services split, there are considerations on how to split the 2 separate committees. Brent will be sending out an email to the club briefing us about the budget process, with potential date established for the budget meeting.

Grants
We have the opportunity get 280% matching funds on our donations. Gary has marketing materials to help us raise funds for these matching funds. The goal is to get $2,500. Peggy suggested PETS as an opportunity to canvas for grant contributions.
Community grants, training seminars have been shared by Gary to qualify for district grants, we need 2 people from the club to sign up.
We have funds earmarked for a capital project. Community grant application submittal deadline is March 31st. Check your inbox for the email for web seminar dates.
Grant awards dinner in April to early May. April 29th will be a 5th Wednesday.
 
Outreach/PR
As part of outreach, Liz presented the Green Team (Rotary Community Corps) to the Chamber’s “Good Morning Mount Horeb” event.
Aubree has done a great job with our social media campaign, members were encouraged to help provide photos of club members.
Figuring out a date for the library’s fence maintenance project for Rotary at Work Day. Date to be determined for this event. Peggy alerted us that the library has no funds for the project, and needs help with procuring stain.
 
DEI and Membership Services is adding relevant documents to the “football” shared document information system.
 
New Generations/ Youth
Judy has scholarship applications, members are encouraged to pick up the applications and give recommendations.
Steve: New teacher luncheons; due to changing opening day of the school due to the school construction project
Asks to change the date to Thursday 8/6 for the new teacher luncheon, in addition to our board and business meetings.

PETS this weekend, Tricon in April in the Dells, potential friendship exchange in Bulgaria
 
Happy Bucks: Mark Rooney: a friend of his, Mike Caruso, was inspired by our 10k raffle.
Sad: Chris Thompson co-owner of Sjolinds has a health concern and closed for a month.
Carter: Rotary Club near Galena is helping with a project in Chile.
Gary is back from a trip to Guatemala partnership with another club from Milwaukee, water project for 450 homes, had dinner at the Mayor’s house, 200 school kids came and hugged the Rotarians.
Keith: basketball; Keith has been coaching, and Harrison’s team is undefeated, wrestling season is over. HS students won state. 4 top 5 students athletes made the podium.
Russ went to Mardi Gras, today’s in Django’s birthday.
